PRINCIPLES & COMMITMENTS

Openness.
Care. Responsibility.

The shared commitments that support exploration and the people taking part.

The Sensus precepts

Seek Truth

Go beyond belief, authority and wishful thinking. Meet experience honestly, distinguish what is known from what is believed, and remain willing to be changed by what is discovered.

Explore Courageously

Enter the unknown with curiosity, discipline and the courage to attempt what others consider impossible.

Embody the Work

Let what you practise transform how you live, relate, create and lead.

Advance Together

Share what you discover, honour those who contributed and help others go further than any one person could alone.

Serve the Whole

Develop human potential in ways that expand freedom, dignity, consciousness, connection and possibility for all.

An ethical foundation

Participation rests on informed consent, autonomy, dignity and care. Respect privacy, maintain clear boundaries, work within your competence and represent your experience honestly.

People must be able to ask questions and raise concerns without coercion or retaliation. Useful learning includes correcting mistakes and crediting those whose work has contributed.

Which commitment applies to you?

Creating an account does not require choosing a teaching path. To join the alumni network, have your full attendance at a recognised training verified and accept the Alumnus Commitment in MySensus. You can complete these in either order.

Continuing to learn and take part as an alumnus is valuable in itself. The teaching commitments apply when you choose or take on the relevant responsibilities.

Read the published texts below. MySensus presents the current commitment when it applies to you.

Open MySensus

The following clauses are from the published version 1 commitments, effective 1 September 2026. Later commitments build on those that came before.

Alumnus Commitment

For people joining the alumni network after full attendance at a recognised training.

Truth

I commit to seeking truth above certainty, status or belonging. I will speak honestly about what I experience, distinguish what I know from what I believe, and correct myself when I am wrong.

Care

I commit to meeting others with dignity and care, protecting their autonomy, privacy and right to understand their own experience in their own way.

Contribution

I commit to honouring those whose work has shaped mine, sharing what may serve others and helping the field grow beyond any one person.

Aspiring Trainer Commitment

For eligible alumni who choose the group Trainer development path. Teaching is optional.

Embodiment

I commit to becoming worthy of what I hope to teach. I will practise deeply, welcome honest feedback and place embodiment and competence before authority.

Service

I commit to pursuing the path of a trainer not merely for recognition or status, but to awaken possibility in others and strengthen the field for those who follow.

Listed Trainer Commitment

For recognised Trainers undertaking teaching responsibilities.

Responsibility

I accept responsibility for those who place their trust in my training. I will protect their safety, dignity and autonomy, work within my competence and act when something is not right.

Honesty

I commit to representing my methods, experiences, evidence and limitations truthfully. I will not manufacture certainty, exaggerate results or conceal mistakes.

Open Hand

I commit to keeping the frontier open by sharing learning responsibly, giving credit freely and creating genuine paths for others to learn, contribute and lead.

Trainer Mentor Commitment

For appointed Trainer Mentors supporting other Trainers.

Stewardship

I commit to placing the integrity and future of Sensus above comfort, friendship, status or personal interest. I will assess fairly, speak truth when it is difficult and intervene when responsibility requires it.

Generativity

I commit to helping others surpass me, offering what I know without possessiveness and strengthening a culture capable of continuing beyond any one teacher.
